For seven years now, our patients have been meeting with volunteers from the Vŕba Volunteer Group, who willingly donate their free time, energy and knowledge for the benefit of others without remuneration. They help patients better cope with the difficult period of waiting for an examination or therapy.
Volunteers with a kind smile offer hot tea or coffee to waiting patients. They also allow patients to spend creative time in Creative Clubs, doing various crafts together with them.
Volunteers form an important part of work teams in hospitals, especially oncology ones. For patients, not only high-quality health care is important, but also distraction and social contact. Long-term hospitalized patients often feel cut off from the world in the hospital. Volunteers try to make their stay in the health care facility more pleasant and more varied, thereby also cooperating on their treatment.
